The Scalp Micropigmentation Procedure
The full scalp micropigmentation treatment takes place over three sessions. This is to allow you to build density over time. Each of these sessions lasts between one to four hours. How scalp micropigmentation works is by the use of a special type of needle. This is designed to inject the pigment into the second dermal skin layer. It Is Different from A Tattoo
Most people ask if SMP is like a tattoo. The answer is yes and no. Just like a tattoo, your SMP is deposited in the dermal skin layer. The difference is that tattoos are deposited way deeper in the dermal skin layer.
An SMP, on the other hand, is deposited into the upper dermal skin. This is what gives it that look of a hair follicle. If it were deeper, it would look like a blub of tattoo ink on your scalp. The shallow application is what prevents that and bestows that impossible to differentiate look.
