Scalp Micropigmentation Pre-Treatment and After Care

Getting ready for your Scalp micropigmentation with us is a stress-free process. We’ll discuss this in detail during the consultation, but here are some important tips to work with.

Scalp Micropigmentation Pre-Treatment: One Week Before Your Session

It is good to start the preparation for your Scalp micropigmentation at least a week before your procedure. Here are some essential things to do during that week:

Moisturise your scalp as often as possible. This will ensure that it is in the best possible condition for your procedure.

If you have any particular hair covering or a style covering your scalp, you might have to take it off. This is to allow fresh air to get to the scalp.

24 Hours Before the Start of Your Procedure

The following tips will help you get ready on the eve of your procedure.

Get your comfy clothes ready. Depending on what you need to get done, you might spend a while in the treatment chair. So, make sure you get your clean and comfortable clothes out.

Take a great breakfast. Make sure you hydrate adequately too. Your body works better when there is enough in your system. Your stimulus is better processed too. So, make sure to eat properly on that day.

Take some paracetamol. This could make a world of difference for some people. Scalp micropigmentation is not an overly painful process. Some people, however, prefer to avoid the discomfort totally. Paracetamol and Ibuprofen will work the magic there.

On the Procedure Day

On the day when your scalp micropigmentation treatment is scheduled, there are many things that you can do to make things more stress-free. Here are two important ones to keep in mind:

Wash your hair to ensure that there are no fibres, gels, or thickening spray left in it.

Shave your head with clippers. You can also come to us with your hair if you prefer. We’ll help you shave it to the appropriate length for the scalp micropigmentation process.

Scalp Micropigmentation Aftercare

Once your scalp micropigmentation procedure/procedures are done, there are great ways that we recommend you take care of yourself and your treatment location. Please look through the following for a list of after procedure do’s and don’ts:

For Four Days After Each Treatment

Do your best to avoid sweating excessively. So yes, that means you can’t do any strenuous work or high-intensity exercises. It’s best not to do anything that will make you sweat too much within this period.

Avoid washing your head when you shower. So, keep that in mind or set a reminder for when you get up each morning as you could forget out of habit.

Do not shave your head yet.

Try not to touch your head. Avoid it as much as you can.

Do not use any moisturiser on your treatment location.

After Four Days Has Passed

You can shave with clippers, a razor or a shaver.

You can also shower your head lightly and use shampoo or shower gel.

Use a moisturiser at this point to keep your scalp in excellent condition. You do not want your head to dry out.

For 21 Days After the Procedure

You can’t go swimming yet. No matter how great your head looks or feels, you have to wait it out.

A Sauna or a steam room is also out of the question.

Do not expose your scalp to sunlight yet. So, make use of caps where necessary.

After 21 Days Have Passed

You can go swimming

You can also use steam rooms and saunas.

You can go out in the sun without a cap. We, however, recommend using a great sunscreen with at least SPF 50 to protect your skin.
